In early 2008, ENSR Australia finalised steps to offset the company’s greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity, staff vehicles and air travel across its operations. Our offices are now powered by Australian GreenPower where GreenPower is available. Additional independently verified renewable energy credits have been purchased to offset emissions from electricity in non-GreenPower locations to offset remaining emissions.

To achieve our objective the Firm calculated its greenhouse emission footprint and then partnered with Climate Friendly to acquire carbon credits from the Hebei Wind Farm in northern China, which meets Kyoto Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) standards. This not only offsets our emissions but also benefits the local community by providing much needed energy security to a remote region, and the global community by encouraging clean energy investments in China.
