Rebate information
The Australian Federal and State Governments, the Office of Renewable Energy Regulator, and Apricus Australia are helping Australian households to install environmentally friendly solar hot water systems, and reduce their carbon emissions.

When installing a new Apricus solar hot water system, the homeowner may be eligible for generous rebates. Basically, there are 3 different rebates available.

RECs/Office of Renewable Energy Regulator Rebate
Every Apricus SHW system is assigned a number of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) on the basis of efficiency and size of the system, and the Zone in which it will be installed. Australia has been split up into 4 different Zones according to postcode. RECs may be either created and traded by the owner of the system, or assigned to a registered Agent. You may assign your right to create certificates to an Agent in return for some benefit to you, such as a rebate or price reduction. In this case, the Agent (Apricus Australia) will own the certificates. The current value for a Renewable Energy Certificate is $49, and most* Apricus systems create 20 RECs or more.

State Government Rebate
The rebate system for each State differs, however it is based on your Apricus system's assigned RECs. In New South Wales for instance, the NSW Climate Change Fund will be offering anywhere between $600 and $1200 for installing an Apricus SHW system. This rebate is eligible if the household is replacing an existing electric hot water system.

Federal Government Rebate
The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts are offering Rebates to homeowners for installing an Apricus SHW system that replaces an existing electric hot water system. The rebate amount is $1000 and is only available in eligible circumstances.
